Charles Meneveau Awarded Gulf of Mexico Grant

Congratulations to E²SHI Associate Charles Meneveau for receiving a grant from the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI) to study and model transport and fate of oil in the Gulf of Mexico. As part of this project, his team will explore remediation strategies for containing the dispersion of oil through simulations.

The grant is part of GoMRI's program to study the effects of oil on the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem and public health. GoMRI is an independent, 10-year research program established with a $500 million commitment from BP following the Deepwater Horizon incident.
