Lipitz Public Health Policy Faculty Awards

Due Date: 07/30/2017

The Institute for Health and Social Policy is accepting applications for the Lipitz Public Health Policy Faculty Awards. The awards provide financial resources in support of innovative, timely, applied public health policy projects led by faculty at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

The purpose of the awards is to support innovative and timely policy solutions through meaningful engagement with policymakers and decision-makers. Priority will be given to projects that speak to the translation of research results into policy, and of policy into legislation, but research activities in direct support of policy development or policy implementation will also be considered. In either case, faculty members should engage a key decision-maker or policymaker as a partner and “principal knowledge user” in support of translational efforts. A plan for the decision-maker or policymaker’s active participation in the project must be included in the proposal, in addition to a letter of support.

To be eligible, projects must be focused on US public health policy issues. Project awards will range from $5,000 to $10,000. To provide funding for policy-related work on an as needed basis, applications will be accepted, reviewed quickly (within 30-45 days after the deadline), and funds will be awarded three times a year.

There are three deadlines during the academic year, which means you can apply in each cycle of the Awards or three times per academic year. The deadlines are:

  • July 30
  • November 30
  • March 30
