Living Classrooms Foundation Internships

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization in Baltimore that strengthens communities and inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."

The Living Classrooms Foundation accepts individual volunteers, interns (including for school credit), and volunteer groups of all ages and sizes - everything from high school student groups to corporate days of service. There are countless ways to engage with the mission of Living Classrooms Foundation.

Just a few opportunities that individual volunteers/ interns have participated:

  • Serve as a tutor and teacher’s aide at one of the after-school programs.
  • Mentor a student at one of the schools.
  • Provide GED tutoring for participants in a workforce development program.
  • Assist adults in our workforce development programs with financial literacy, computer skills, and other life skills.
  • Mentor an ex-offender who is transitioning back to life in the community.
  • Speak with a group about your workplace and life experiences.
  • Assist as a coach with our after-school and weekend sports programs.
